Weapons are checked at the airlock, drives are scanned, and what you carry is the station's business until you leave. Enforcement is thin and selective; the wise settle disputes quietly, before Command has to notice.

On the Rim a debt is more binding than any law and a favor is never truly free. The Syndicate keeps the longest ledger of all, and it always, eventually, collects.
